In the practical work of the department, diagnostic and surgical endoscopic interventions are performed in the following diseases:

  • Gastritis
  • Stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Polyps and adenomas of the gastrointestinal tract
  • Early tumor changes in the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract
  • Varicose-dilated esophagus veins
  • Mechanical jaundice with bile duct stones and tumors of the organs of the pancreatobiliary zone (large duodenal papilla, pancreas, bile duct, gall bladder)
  • Diseases of the trachea and bronchi

Diagnostic procedures (including intravenous anesthesia):

  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Endoscopic retrograde pancreatic-cholangiography (ERPHG)
  • Chromoendoscopy and narrow spectral endoscopy, used to search for tumor changes in the mucosa of the esophagus, stomach and large intestine at an early stage

  • Enteroscopy
  • Different kinds of biopsies

Minimally invasive surgical interventions (including intravenous or endotracheal anesthesia):

  • Polypectomy from the upper and lower digestive tract
  • Polypectomy of the bronchi
  • Endoscopic resection of the mucosa (mucosectomy) with early tumor changes in the mucosa of the esophagus, stomach
  • Endoscopic dissection in the submucosal layer with early tumor changes in the mucosa of the esophagus, stomach
  • Removal of bezoars and foreign bodies
  • Ligation of varicose veins of the esophagus
  • Balloon dilatation and bougie with cicatricial strictures of the digestive tract
  • Stenting the esophagus, pyloroduodenal zone, large intestine with tumor narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract
  • Endoscopic papillosphincterotomy, lithoextraction and lithotripsy, biliary stenting, nasobiliary drainage in bile duct stones, tumors of the pancreatobiliary zone complicated by mechanical jaundice
  • Drainage and stenting of pancreatic cysts
  • Various types of endoscopic hemostasis in gastrointestinal bleeding

On the basis of the Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians in the Department of Diagnostic and Operative Endoscopy, courses of primary specialization in flexible endoscopy, courses of thematic improvement, as well as certification courses on endoscopy are conducted. On the basis of the department, scientific work is carried out, 110 works are published in medical literature, 3 Russian conferences with international participation on the use of mini-invasive technologies in a multidisciplinary hospital are organized.
