The Department of Cardiac Surgery is located on the 2nd floor of the medical-diagnostic complex of the St. George National Center of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
The main area of work is surgical treatment of heart and thoracic aortic diseases:
- Ischemic heart disease;
- Acquired heart defects;
- Congenital heart defects;
- Infective endocarditis;
- Pericarditis of different etiology;
- Tumor and parasitic heart disease;
- Thoracic aorta aneurysms.
More than 800 cardiovascular operations are performed annually on the basis of the department, about 500 of which are open heart interventions.
Particular attention is paid to the development and introduction of modern methods of diagnosis and treatment, predicting immediate and long-term results in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Training is regularly conducted in the form of lectures, seminars, video presentations, practical exercises. The department is deployed on 19 beds and corresponds to the world standards, presented to the departments of the cardiosurgical profile. Doctors of the department have extensive experience, academic degrees and titles.

How to reach us by using public transport
“Pervomaiskaya” metro station (last carriage of the train out of the city centre). From “Pervomaiskaya” metro station by any tram or trolley bus go to the stop “15th Parkovaya Street”.
