On October 17-18, 2019, under the auspices of IACMAC (Interregional Association of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy), the first Eurasian Congress on Antimicrobial Therapy and Clinical Microbiology was held in Ufa.

The scientific forum has become one of the largest and most representative in the history of IACMAC. The Congress brought together more than 1900 participants from Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Spain, the UK and other countries. Within two days, more than 60 reports of leading world experts in the field of antimicrobial therapy, infection control, laboratory diagnosis of infections and other relevant topics of modern medicine were heard at the congress venues as part of plenary and breakout sessions.

The Pirogov Center specialists did not stand aside from such a significant scientific and educational event and took part with a report on the experience of implementing the strategy of control of antimicrobial therapy (SCAT) in a multidisciplinary hospital, new forms of education for medical personnel on infection control and rational antibiotic therapy.

Within the framework of the congress, a forum of experts was held, at which, jointly with specialists from the Pirogov Center, the Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after N.V. Sklifosovsky and Clinical Hospital named after G.G. Kuvatov outlined a plan for the implementation and implementation of SCAT in the largest medical institution in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
