September 20, 2019 in Moscow at the City Clinical Hospital named after V.M. Bouyanov there was held a conference with international participation “Automation of pharmacies: how technology is changing the life of modern medical institutions”.
This scientific event was attended by numerous representatives of medical and pharmaceutical organizations involved in drug supply issues, including specialists from Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
Participants noted that in modern conditions, one of the main trends in healthcare is increasing work efficiency and standardizing processes through the use of a wide range of information technologies and robotization.
The turnover of medicines and supplies is a sector that requires speedy innovation and the introduction of new technologies. Informatization and robotization will make it possible to create a “smart” pharmacy that implements automation of the processes of receiving, recording, storing and dispensing medicines and supplies, and thereby ensure the achievement of the main task — the continuous and uninterrupted provision of medical assistance to the population of the Russian Federation.
The event discussed the most important issues faced by medical and pharmacy organizations in modern conditions:
- automation and robotization of all drug supply processes;
- modern automated systems for storing and dispensing drugs;
- optimization of stocks, logistics and accounting for the movement and consumption of drugs.
From the Pirogov Center a report on the topic “Experience and prospects for the automation of drug turnover in a large multidisciplinary clinic” was made by the First Deputy General Director D.N. Nikitenko.
Participants noted the high importance of the problems discussed and the need for the practical implementation of the presented automated models for managing drug circulation in the public and private health sectors.
