On April 16-17, 2019, the 2nd All-Russian Research and Practice Conference with international participation “Hodgkin’s Lymphoma” will be held in the Pirogov Center.

The conference will be attended by leading Russian and international experts: prof. Demina E.A., prof. Poddubnaya I.V., prof. Kovrigina A.M., prof. Afanasyev B.V., Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.G. Rumyantsev, Andreas Engert, Bastian von Tresckow, Jean El-Cheikh. The head of the German Hodgkin Lymphoma Study Group (GHSG), Andreas Engert, will make a presentation on the prospects for the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in light of recent advances in immunotherapy. His colleague Bastian von Tresckow will present an overview of scientific events following international symposia in 2018: the 11th International Hodgkin Lymphoma Symposium (Cologne) and the 60th Annual Congress of the American Society of Hematology (San Diego).

The opening of the conference will be attended by the Director of the “N.N. Blokhin National Reserch Centre of Oncology” of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences prof. Stilidi I.S.

The following topics will also be discussed:

  • Morphological and prognostic aspects of Hodgkin’s lymphoma;
  • Treatment of early and generalized stages;
  • PET-adapted strategy;
  • Modern approaches to radiation therapy;
  • Treatment of refractory and recurrent Hodgkin’s lymphoma;
  • Immunotherapy, targeted therapy;
  • Autologous and allogenous transplantation;
  • Regional Russian experience in the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

On April 16, a round table is planned, in which both Hodgkin lymphoma experts and heads of oncological and hematological institutions, in which patients with Hodgkin lymphoma are treated, will take part. The topic of the round table is “Problems of treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Russia”. The main purpose of the event is to coordinate the actions of oncologists, hematologists and specialists of other medical specialties involved in the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Russia.

The conference is included in the plan of scientific and practical activities of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation for 2019 (Order of the Ministry of Healthcare No. 99 of February 28, 2019). The Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation sent out an information letter about the upcoming conference.

The conference is submitted as a training event for accreditation to the coordinating council of the continuous medical education (CME).
