October 12, 2018 Pirogov Center, with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the Russian Scientific Society of Clinical Electrophysiology, Arrhythmology and Cardiostimulation Specialists (RSSA) and the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), held the VII scientific-practical conference Actual issues of diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation.

The conference was opened by the General Director of the Pirogov Center, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor O.E.Karpov. Addressing the audience, Oleg Eduardovich Karpov emphasized that the main task of the seventh traditional conference was to hear each other, to share not only accumulated experience and best practices, but also pressing problems, and make joint decisions. Official greetings were continued by the appeal and the video report of the President of the RSSA, the Director of the National Medical Research Center of Surgery named after A.V. Vishnevsky, Chief Visiting Surgeon of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.Sh.Revishvili, revealing the state and prospects of the use of minimally invasive technologies in the treatment of atrial fibrillation in Russia and in the world. During the opening ceremony, the event was also addressed by the Chief of the arrhythmology service of the Pirogov Center, Associate Professor A.V. Sveshnikov.

The conference discussed the issues of surgical and therapeutic treatment of atrial fibrillation, which, undoubtedly, was of interest to a wide range of specialists. Leading experts in cardiology, arrhythmology and clinical electrophysiology from the Pirogov Center, National Medical Research Center of preventive medicine, National Medical Research Center of cardiology, City Clinical Hospital named after. I.F. Inozemtsev, City Clinical Hospital  23 named after I.V. Davydovsky, RSMU named after N.I. Pirogov, NMIC named after E.N. Meshalkin, MSU Medical Scientific and Educational Center and other medical institutions.

The conference was attended by over 250 people from the leading centers of Moscow, the Moscow Region, other regions of the Russian Federation, as well as guests from the CIS countries.

The speakers and guests noted the high level of organization of the event and expressed their wishes to continue the tradition of holding the conference.

A visit to the Department of Surgical Treatment of Complex Cardiac Rhythm Disturbances and Pacing, as well as other departments of the Pirogov Center was organized.
