Employees of the Pirogov Center took part in the All-Russian Congress with international participation “Actual problems of critical care medicine”, which was held on May 11-13 in St. Petersburg and gathered more than 1200 anaesthesiologists, critical care physicians, neurologists, surgeons, epidemiologists, clinical pharmacologists, nurses. Specialists of the Center, Deputy General Director prof. M.N. Zamyatin and the head doctor of the hospital Ph.D., V.G. Gusarov, presented their experience at the sessions devoted to the study and prevention of PICS syndrome (post intensive care syndrome), the prevention and treatment of nosocomial infections, the problem of antibiotic resistance, and the forum of experts of the introduction of the Antibiotic Stewardship Program for Inpatient Care in Russian hospitals. Chief medical nurses Y.S. Gaboyan and A.I. Pivkina acted as co-organizers of the scientific section for nurses on topical issues of organization and provision of nursing care in ICU and took an active part in organizing and holding a discussion meetings (together with representatives of the Research Institute of Disinfectology of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare) on the organizational aspects of the prevention of infectious complications in the ICU and the discussion of changes to the new sanitary rules and standards for medicine organizations.
