In the Pirogov Center, the technique of ultrasonography with contrast enhancement has been introduced and successfully used, which leads to the diagnosis of parenchymal and vascular diseases to a new qualitative level.

Since 2015, the Pirogov Center has been systematically working on the use of ultrasound contrast preparation for therapeutic purposes (potentiating the effect) when performing ultrasound ablation of mass lesions in liver, pancreas and uterine fibroids. Since 2018, ultrasonography with contrast enhancement has been used for diagnostic purposes in performing ultrasound examinations of organs and vessels of the abdominal cavity, retroperitoneal space, breast, thyroid glands, soft tissues. The method allows not only to reveal the mass lesions, but also to conduct differential diagnosis between benign and malignant lesions, assess the patency of the main arteries and veins of the abdominal cavity organs, perform ultrasound-cholangiography, hysterosalpingography.

Indications for use of ultrasound with contrast: focal lesions of the liver, pancreas, spleen, kidneys (cysts, solid formations, infectious diseases), pathology of the abdominal aorta, portal vein.

The contrast-enhanced ultrasonography method has practically no contraindications, it is possible to conduct studies for patients who are contraindicated in the use of iodine-containing contrast agents.
